What is a Resistor ?
Resistor is a passive component which resist the flow of current through it.Resistor are mostly used in every circuit.It is generally denoted by R and its units are ohms.Symbol of resistor is given as below

Cause of Resistance:-
The restive element are offer resistance but why? This is the most interesting topic to understand.
In any restive element there will be atoms and ions in it so when we use restive element in any circuit the atoms and ions collide with each other when supply is applied to them and then they not allow the current to pass with itself.
Take an example if you have to cross any crowded area you have to make effort to cross in same in resistance crowd of atoms and ions are there which collide with each other and resist the floe of current it.
